Year 10 Elective History students have been studying Ancient civilisations; recently focusing on Ancient Japan. While studying Ancient Japan students looked at the art of Origami which isn’t just a craft but a quiet echo of Japan’s past, shaped by the same values of precision, patience, and beauty that guided samurai, artisans, and court culture.
History came to life as students folded history into their hands-
each crease becoming a link to traditions that have travelled centuries, reminding us that creativity has always been part of Japan’s legacy.
A simple paper crane becomes a bridge between modern classrooms and the elegance of ancient Japanese life.

Registrations are now open for the JUST Series 2026 Creative and Performing Arts Workshops, catering for Years 5–8 students at a cost of $50 per workshop.
Students can choose from the following:
JUST SING – Monday 28 September (9am - 3pm)
JUST DANCE – Tuesday 29 September (9am - 3pm)
JUST CREATE – Tuesday 29 September (9am - 3pm)
JUST ACT – Wednesday 30 September (9am - 3pm)

These practical workshops provide students with opportunities to develop foundational skills, build confidence, and explore their creativity alongside experienced teachers and industry professionals.

Recently, our Year 10 Music students ventured out to the Riverside Theatre for a live production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s iconic rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar.
The excursion directly supported the Year 10 curriculum, allowing students to translate classroom theory on Musical Theatre into a real-world performing arts context. Watching the production unfold on stage provided a firsthand look at how dramatic staging, lighting design, and complex vocal arrangements work in harmony to drive narrative and emotion.
A major highlight for many was the opportunity to observe the live pit orchestra. Seeing professional musicians execute the show's signature rock-fusion instrumentation offered an invaluable lesson in the collaborative relationship between stage performers and live accompaniment.
To top off an inspiring outing, students had the privilege of meeting members of the cast following the final curtain call. The performers generously shared insights into performance techniques and careers in the industry leaving our Year 10 cohort thoroughly inspired.
