Year 9 students took part in a wood turning masterclass at TimberBits. Each student learned how to safely operate a lathe and transform timber blanks into beautifully crafted pens. The hands-on experience was both engaging and enriching, with every student walking away with new skills and a sense of accomplishment.

Last week our Year 8 Newman class participated in their Newman Literacy Challenge Day. Students worked collaboratively to plan and create a digital escape room on a topic that interested them, writing a premise and designing puzzles to challenge participants then using the Google platform to build a digital 'room'.

Earlier this week Year 11 Biology students visited Bonna Point, Kurnell to take part in an ecosystem dynamics field study. They investigated the mangrove ecosystem, finding some interesting animals in the seagrass including a pygmy squid.
