Today our dance group took to the stage again at the Sydney Catholic Schools Eisteddfod, this time in the Lyrical section, placing forth.
Mrs Kendrigan and Ms Taylor commented that it was, "A beautiful performance filled with emotion, grace and connection. Congratulations on the way in which you supported one another and represented Aquinas with such maturity, focus and passion for dance!"

Last Friday 29 Year 9 students completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Practice Hike from Heathcote, walking to Waterfall while following the challenging Bullawaring Track which features several difficult climbs, ascents and crossings.
The group stopped for lunch at Kingfisher Pool campground where we had time to explore and enjoy the scenery; a group of boys discovered an interesting cave network carved out of the rocks by the creek flowing by the campground before everyone then hiked back to Waterfall station.
The students demonstrated teamwork, leadership and an overall fantastic attitude. Special thanks to Mr Hants, Mr Moroney, Miss Minchella and Mrs Faber for accompanying the students and providing them with the opportunity.

Yesterday our Stage 4 dance group took to the stage at the Sydney Catholic Schools Eisteddfod in the Jazz section with incredible energy, enthusiasm and teamwork.
While they didn’t place, the girls should be so proud of their performance and the way they supported one another throughout the day. Their commitment, positivity and passion for dance truly shone on stage.
Special thanks to Mrs Kendrigan and Ms Taylor for their expertise and support of the group through the competition.

Year 9 English students are currently studying Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and today we popped into Ms Loftus' English class to observe their interpretation of the text.
We were delighted to see that students had been busy making masks for the Capulet ball and were wearing them during their reading of the masked ball scene where Romeo and Juliet first meet.
