Year 7 Geography students are currently studying plate tectonics and their impact on the earth.
Mrs McNamara's class completed the "Oreo Cookie Activity", where students reenacted the movement of tectonic plates, visualising how mountains and volcanoes are created while discussing how the theory of plate tectonics impacts natural disasters like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
What an interesting way to learn!

Last week, our Year 10 Commerce students hit the campaign trail, engaging in a practical mock election. Students formed their own political parties and pitched political campaigns to their peers, allowing students to gain a firsthand understanding of their rights, responsibilities and the mechanics of Australia's preferential voting system.
After a competitive round of speeches and a formal ballot, "Seasons for Life" was declared the winner in Mrs Hecimovic's class, the "Iron Reserve Party" in Mrs Rheinberger's class and Future First Australia in Ms Dobson’s class.
The activity was a fantastic way to see our future voters in action, learning exactly what it takes to be an active and informed citizen.

This Friday we celebrate Multicultural Day.
Our Year 12 students have been busy preparing for the day which will include:
- A Staff vs Students soccer game
- School Liturgy
- Individual and Year 12 performances
- A range of cuisines from around the globe. (These can be pre-ordered from the canteen)
Students are encouraged to dress in national costume/colours or jerseys and asked to bring in a $2 gold coin donation which will be donated to the Charitable Works Fund.

Congratulations to our rock bands who competed in the Sydney Catholic Schools Rock Eisteddfod today.
1st Place: Junior Rock Band
2nd Place: Year 10 Rock Band
Dr Gough noted: "We received praise from the adjudicator on our musicianship, technical ability and ensemble awareness. Their performances were well received with the crowd all cheering them on".

Over the weekend the Father Denis Foley Resource Centre had two artworks added to its walls.
The first includes images of our College and House Patrons, increasing their prominence and presence in our community while the second, a word collage focuses on our College values.
