Over the past week our student musicians have taken part in Sydney Catholic Schools Eisteddfod where they showcased their talent, dedication and passion, achieving outstanding results across a range of ensemble categories including:
- College Vocal Group: Under Miss Blanche's direction the ensemble delivered a polished and expressive performance featuring a challenging 'a cappella' work and a stirring rendition of Sia’s Courage to Change, impressing both audience and adjudicators, proudly earning a Highly Commended Certificate for placing third.
- College Jazz Band: Under the direction of Dr Gough the band performed Herbie Hancock’s jazz classic Watermelon Man. The band’s hard work was rewarded with First Place, with adjudicators praising the quality of the improvisations and the ensemble’s strong sense of cohesion and teamwork.
- Combined Ensemble (Orchestra): Under the direction of Amadeus tutor, Mr Mitchell Lowe the 33-member ensemble delivered a confident and accomplished performance with their efforts being recognised with a Highly Commended Certificate for placing third.
- Concert Band (Wind Band): Also under the direction of Mr Mitchell Lowe the band entertained the audience with a dynamic and exciting performance of music from Star Wars. Their crowd-pleasing performance earned them 3rd Place, rounding out a highly successful day for the College’s music program.
Good luck to our String Ensemble who will perform tomorrow and our junior rock bands who will compete on Tuesday 2nd June.

Last week four of our students competed at the NSW All Schools Swimming Championships at Olympic Park. To reach this level is a credit to the boys' dedication and commitment to the sport.

This week Year 12 students attended their retreat at Kiah Ridge. Their theme was "Moving Mountains" and students engaged in a range of activities that provided them with the opportunity to reflect not only themselves but their relationship with their family, friends and their God.
As the week concludes with group two we wanted to again thank Dr Maroney, Mrs Maistrelis and the Year 12 Pastoral team for facilitating this very special and memorable event.
