This morning we celebrated a beautiful Mother's Day Liturgy to acknowledge and thank the significant women in our lives, followed by breakfast.
Special thanks to all the staff who helped prepare the morning, in particular Mrs Maistrelis and Dr Maroney.

Students from Aquinas Catholic College, Menai, St Patrick's College Sutherland and St John Bosco College Engadine came together over the weekend for something truly meaningful 💛

Taking part in the Council’s Relay For Life at Don Lucas Reserve, Wanda Beach, these students embodied the spirit of Magis — striving to give more, to serve more, and to be more for others. In walking in solidarity with those affected by cancer, they put faith into action in a powerful and inspiring way.

Their collective efforts have raised an incredible total, now nearing $100,000 👏

As Pope Leo reminds us, true greatness is found not in what we take, but in what we give. This achievement reflects the compassion, generosity and courage of our young people, united in service of a cause greater than themselves.

We are so proud of every student, staff member and supporter who made this possible.

Year 9 Exercise Science and Sport Studies are studying Sports for Specific Groups and today students had the opportunity to engage in a Wheelchair Basketball incursion with Rick from Wheelchair Sports NSW.
Students played a game and experienced first hand some of the challenges the athletes experience; whilst developing a better appreciation of the skill needed to play the sport.

NB: The Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup will take place at WIN Entertainment Centre, Wollongong on Saturday 31st October.

Yesterday 7 Red participated in their Newman Challenge Day, 'Symposium of the Stars'.
This day is designed to enhance students' classroom learning with critical and creative thinking focused on researching a person who deserves more recognition for their positive contribution to the world. 7 Red will continue to work on this project throughout the year, and present their work to our community at our annual Aquinas Newman Symposium.

Over the weekend eleven students participated in their Silver Duke of Edinburgh practice hike. Students kayaked from Glenworth Valley to Gentleman's Halt Campground on the Hawkesbury River. The students did exceptionally well, in particular on the second day when they were working against both wind and tide on the return paddle.
Special thanks to Mr Hants and Ms Folwell for giving up their time to provide the students with such an enriching experience.
